Rural and Underserved Communities

Who is Cohort 1 for:  Organizations located in underserved communities (rural areas and / or Persistent Poverty Communities), supporting communities and industries that may not have naturally occurring ecosystems nor current capacity for local innovation cluster leadership.

Commerce conducted a low barrier competitive application process to select Four Cohort 1 organizations to receive up to a $50,000 capacity building contract to support their participation in the Launch program. Note that this funding is intended to augment capacity and does not cover all costs and time spent by the organization and their partners involved in the work.

Learn and implement strategies and techniques to convene industry ecosystem partners and drive collaboration.

Step 2:

Begin building an innovation cluster strategy based on global best practices.

Position their networks to pursue private and public investment in collaborative projects.
