Potential and Emerging Innovation Clusters
Who is Cohort 2 for: Potential and emerging regional clusters with incomplete ecosystems that will benefit from support to develop early stage cluster strategy for future Innovation Cluster Accelerator application rounds. These might include priority sectors that we need to invest in now to accelerate economic development in industries of strategic significance such as semiconductors, agriculture, emerging clean technologies, and others.

Commerce conducted a low-barrier competitive application process to select seven organizations to participate in Cohort 2. This cohort includes participating in free Launch workshops and technical assistance.

Supports industry and community leaders, economic development organizations, and business networks to:
Step 1:
Learn and implement strategies and techniques to convene industry ecosystem partners and drive collaboration.
Step 2:
Begin building an innovation cluster strategy based on global best practices
Step 3:
Position their networks to pursue private and public investment in collaborative projects.
